A Comparison Between the Bible and The Stone Angel Essay

Notwithstanding the similitudes between the two Hagars, John and Marvin, Hagar’s children, equal Jacob and Esau, direct relatives of Abram and Sarah. In Hagar’s eyes, John is her Jacob. Hagar secures and favors John a similar way that Rebekah favors Jacob. In the Bible, Isaac, a visually impaired man, plans to give his last gifts to Esau, his oldest child. Rebekah, having caught Isaac’s aims, teaches Jacob to assume Esau’s position and to get his brother’s endowments. All things considered, Jacob is honored by Isaac and escapes into the wild †upon his mother’s guidance †out of dread of Esau. Correspondingly, John escapes from his family and into his own wild, Manawaka. In Manawaka John keeps an eye on his withering dad, Bram, and gets Bram’s favoring before his demise. Marvin never gets Bram’s favoring, despite the fact that they were close when Marvin was a youngster. John, generally, assumes Marvin’s position. Increasingly significant, in any case, in this examination is the relationship every kid imparts to Hagar. Hagar, having consistently been slanted to cherish John more, needs John to be her Jacob and to need and to get her approval. She says, â€Å"I wish he could have appeared as though Jacob at that point, grappling with the holy messenger and besting it† (Laurence 179), as John battles to lift the stone blessed messenger gravestone for Hagar. John bites the dust before Hagar gets an opportunity to present her favors to him. It is just in biting the dust that Hagar acknowledges, through Marvin’s consideration, that Marvin is her Jacob. He is the child that cherishes and thinks about her more than all else. Hagar states, â€Å"Now it appears to me he (Marvin) is really Jacob, holding energetically, and bartering. I won't let thee go, aside from thou favor me. What's more, I see I am subsequently unusually thrown, and maybe have been so from the earliest starting point and can just discharge myself by discharging him† (Laurence 304). He won't let Hagar go â€Å"gentle into that great night†(Thomas, preamble). Marvin at last gets Hagar’s endowments, the gifts that John had, for such a long time, undeservingly taken.

Education †teacher Essay

Instruction Many individuals on the planet imagine that training is a totally superb thing and that its essential definitely. Truly it really is great and is should have been increasingly fruitful yet it isn't vital definitely. Training can set you up to be more achievement and over the long haul get more cash-flow yet additionally it can detract from the significance of outside encounters and road smarts. As school goes on it even turns out to be less agreeable on the grounds that its a greater amount of the things that they accept is the thing that should be educated and not what the understudy is keen on. In numerous students’ feelings, most classes they take in school and even secondary school furnish them with no kind of commendable information or experience for this present reality. It is there to simply suck cash from you and go about as practically like a filler. All through secondary school, the material adapted regularly looks past monetary commitments and genuine difficulties. In secondary school, most courses will in general arrangement with complex arithmetic and logical conditions that the normal American resident wouldn’t fantasy about utilizing in their every day schedule. Most mind that is utilized is frequently the straightforward information that we procured in basic. Who has gone to the general store and whipped out an analytics condition? Who required a logical equation to cut their garden? Normally the regular individual doesn’t consider memory helpers, hominems, or other mental aides that probably assist us with communicating in the english language. We simply think what we need to state and in a matter of milliseconds what our mind has handled is out of our mouths. By and by, instruction started to get uninteresting when Freshman year began. They began to give every one of us the pointless recipes and conditions that make no difference in reality around this time. This is a greater amount of the system’s shortcoming, not even as much as the instructors as you may might suspect. The framework concocts these extraordinary prerequisites and desires that we should accomplish to graduate or proceed onward to the following evaluation level. For instance, you expected to take an open talking class which a few people probably won't need at all throughout everyday life, or as of now may be an incredible speaker and afterward the class will simply be another filler burning through your time. In this time you could be picking up something helpful to you or your general prosperity. Another issue is the educators. Few out of every odd educator, however a decent bit. Particularly the educators that don’t care about their understudies and you can tell they don’t. They’re only there for the cash and that's it. They’ll experience slide after slide of data and you stay there and record it all in your note pad. That isn't the best approach to educate in light of the fact that truly, there may be a few understudies that prefer to learn as such and comprehend. In any case, there are additionally in any event a couple others in the class that don’t truly know what’s going on and are simply fundamentally recording words on the paper that practically amount to nothing. Something else that can be an issue is when instructors don’t associate with their understudies or attempt to blend in somewhat fun to a great extent. That’s what you have to keep the enthusiasm of an understudy on point. Rattle in there from time to time. Rather than taking notes one day, lead an entire class action or give a few recordings that relate to the exercise or data you’ve been inspecting. Don’t believe that it’s totally the teacher’s issue that understudies aren’t intrigued or included. A portion of the fault is to be put on understudies themselves! Most understudies don’t even trouble to attempt to get included or get familiar with the material. You have to in any event invested some energy in whatever you do to be fruitful in it. So you can't state that you are bombing a class absolutely off the instructor or on the grounds that the material. In such a case that you attempted to learn and comprehend or converse with the educator about it, a large portion of the time you’d wind up in a greatly improved situation than were you recently began. As expressed before most believe that instruction is a need in life using any and all means, it isn't. It is as yet significant and can influence how an incredible result will play out however. You will locate that most youthful grown-ups and people who don't go to class will wind up in terrible circumstances with not as steady employments, vehicles, houses, and so forth. Be that as it may, this isn't all since they didn’t have decent training. Truly it might have helped however there are such huge numbers of different components that play into a people life that you can’t proceed to state on the grounds that the instruction wasnt there is the sole explanation that they wound up how they did. At most you could state that it assumed a significant job. In general instruction is as yet a significant thing however isn't totally should have been accomplishment using any and all means. There are a decent measure of things that aren't right with the training nowadays, however on the other hand there are likewise a copious measure of things that are excellent about it. Taking everything into account training has things amiss with it at each level from the most noteworthy positioned individual in the framework, to the instructors who educate and address, and even to the understudies who are there to learn and attempt to appreciate everything. Everybody along the line needs to invest somewhat more energy and reconsider how to move toward instruction inside and out!

Basically, it is the tyrannical tendencies which makes his folk to seek intervention from their gods for a relief, and they send Enkidu in a bid of acting as the Gilgamesh’s foil. Bot of their friendship and also the adventures are some of the significant aspect that lead to the transformation of the Gilmaresh. In this essay, we will discuss the features of the kingship among the ancient Sumerian society. In Uruk which was the city located among the river Tigris and Euphrates, Gilgamesh was their fifth king and he is portrayed as possessing divine privileges and also responsibility as the king. The king was a revered person and often seen as a god and because they possessed divine privileges, they could sleep with their bride before the husband was permitted to do so. They also had slept with the virgins as they were accorded this right as the kings, and also due to their higher status as the god and also the old-birthright granted to them. Thirdly, kings were able to enforce the harsh work mandate uncensored. Kings also were granted human responsibilities as the ruler of the people. It was their duty to build and maintain the city. In most of the political meeting, the King’s Counsel was highly valued by the council of elders and the king was not subjected to the senate. The code of law for Hammurabi As far as the social structure Babylonians is concerned, they were governed by code of laws. These were a group of Semites who majorly communicated in Hammurabi dialect. The code of law was authored by Marduk their god. Under this code, men were granted powers over their families. In severe instances, men were given rights to sell their wives and also the children to such activities such as slavery in order to pay off their debt. Secondly, they had power to disinherit their son if they wished to do so. But for them to carry out these extreme cases, the laws provided that they have to prove their cases in a court of law so that they can be granted a go-ahead. The law never protected women and children enough. For instance, a son could have his hands cut off if he ever struck his father. When a child did a wrong once under the code, she or he was not punished but in the instance that the child made a second error, the code provided that the father was able to punish her or him as he wi shed. It can be drawn that the father was the center of the Babylonians life as the code gave them extensive powers over their families as far as the social structure was concerned. Features of pre-historic phase According to the pre-history notes, the term pre-history basically refers to ‘the time before civilization or the history itself’ which is in other word the period before the emergence of cities, before writing at around 3000 BCE just before the growth and development of ancient cities such as Mesopotamia. The author states that this was the ‘the transition from the Paleolithic to the Neolithicthat did not happen all at onceand that transition was traditionally dated as 3000 BCE.’ Secondly, in the Paleolithic duration, the discovery made by scientist in the caves of Gobekli in Turkey have shown the early man was very religious. In this site, they were able to discover religious shrines where the ancient man used to worship their gods. This has indicated ‘would push back the dating of how early mankind was engaged in any kind of formal, ritualistic religious observations.’ Also these co mmunity used to get their food majorly from being hunters and gatherers and lived in caves and trees. In this stage, man was just but an advanced ape that was bi-pedal and upright. The presence of an opposable thumbs was key for them being able to grasp and also manipulate things in a better way. Thirdly, his brain size has greatly increased making them to start coming up with new innovations so as to make their life better such as the discovery of fire. It can be concluded that man has come from a long way to the modern day human being.

Is Social Media Responsible For The Increase Of Mental...

Is social media responsible for the increase in mental health issues in young people? For the majority of my generation social media is an integral part of our lives. Since the invention of the smart phone we have only ever been a few clicks away from our friends and endless information. However, how is this affecting our mental health? On the one hand it can be argued that it is enhancing our communication skills yet studies have suggested that offline behaviours such as bullying are becoming more and more prevalent online. With the dawn of social media also came cyberbullying. Unlike verbal and physical bullies, cyberbullies have the power of anonymity and omnipresence, which in some cases can allow them to be untouchable. One only has†¦show more content†¦Hence it is unlikely that participants would be willing to reveal that level of personal information in a survey. Therefore, this study does not reflect the true number of the sample experiencing suicidal thoughts. One could argue that cyberbullying is not the fault of social media and if social media had not come about the other forms of bullying would just have increased in severity. Ybarra and Mitchell et al (2004) found that: ‘Students who bully online are more likely to report poor parent-child relationships and a lack of parental monitoring of online behaviour’. So surely the responsibility of the increase in mental health problems lies with the parents. The world is always adapting therefore, it is a parent’s duty to make sure that their children are taught the appropriate behaviours for any social setting. Yet one could argue that social media provides opportunities for social interaction that those with mental illnesses such as social anxiety would not otherwise be able to have. 0.8% of the adult population suffers from agoraphobia, a fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult. So one could argue that social media provides a lower pressure environment where at least the person is receiving some social interaction rather than none at all. Someone with social anxiety disorder is characterized as having a constant phobia of social situations in which they believe they will be

Conflicts in the Middle East between 1949 and 1973

the conflict in the middle east between 1948-1973 was not purely fuelled by the interest and concerns of the superpowers but rather of a series of conflictual incidents, aswell as the main wars that took place from the years from 1948-1967 such as the: 1948 War, The Six Day War of 1967 and the Yom Kippur war of 1973. But although the conflict was not fuelled by the superpowers, the influence of the superpowers and the reach of the superpowers into the Middle East was evident in the years both prior and following 1978. But even despite the influence and interests of the superpowers between and including 1948-1967 being undeniably evident, the extent of this influence cannot be said to have â€Å"fuelled the conflict†. *length The 1948 War was a war purely provoked by means of conflict between the Arab world and the state of Israel and can be is the start of the conflict and tension to follow, the 1948 war was essentially built on the foundation of the Arab states attacking Israel in an attempt to crush her existence and although there was no superpower influence in this war there was a small superpower involvement in the middle east at this stage which can be seen in the Partition plan of 1947, a document created by the UN which both the USSR and the USA were involved in creating. Difference Between Logistics And Supply Chain Management

The label â€Å"Made in China† fills our aisles with products sporting the term from appliances to textiles to children’s toys. Americans prefer to support their country, with 78% stating they would rather buy domestically produced products over their international counterparts (Consumer Reports Magazine, 2013). Despite the strong support of made-in-America products, international production and trading dominates because of its lower costs for retailers and wholesalers who import these goods. This move to outsourcing production has forced those in business to understand the science of logistics and supply chain management more than ever before. With the international trade growth rate growing at about 5.51% per year, it’s crucial that business programs like the one taught at Northern Arizona University include courses on how supply chain management and logistics affect organizations (David, 2013). Firstly, it’s important to understand the difference and relationship between logistics and supply chain management. Logistics, as defined by the textbook, â€Å"plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods and services to meet customers’ requirements† (David, 2013, p. 47). Airline Marketing

Question: Explaine of the Airline Marketing ? Answer: Introduction Etihad Airlines is the national airlines of United Arab Emirates (UAE). There are many people travelling to the Middle East from different parts of the world and vice versa (OConnell, 2011). Oil is exported from the Middle Eastern countries to various part of the world. All this income has been used by these countries to build infrastructure. These countries are now becoming major commercial centres and hotel and tourism industry has prospered in this region. These countries have learnt the art of business and engineering from the west and other Asian countries like India. These countries have started many business ventures including airlines like Etihad Airways which was formed in 2003 (Etihad.com, 2017). Etihad Airlines marketing strategy An airline company basically is a service provider (Zimmerman and Blythe, 2013). It provides its customers with the facility of carrying them and their luggage from one place to another. Nowadays wealthy people and those belonging to the middle class travel by air. The customers from Europe, United States of America and Australia have greater amount of money to spend on travelling expenses. Etihad Airlines has also focused on these customers. A large proportion of people from these countries travel by business class. The passengers in the business class are willing to pay more for better services. But the question is why a passenger from a rich European country travel by Etihad Airways and not from a bigger and more advanced airline like British Airways. This is where it is a challenge for airlines like Etihad which are smaller in size to provide world class services. Any business organization has to take decisions regarding the marketing mix it would offer to its customers (Mindtools.com, 2017). Marketing mix is a combination of seven Ps including product, price, physical distribution, promotion, people, process and physical environment. Etihad Airlines also offers unique basket of services to its customers. It has divided its seat offered on the airplanes into different classes, namely, residence, first class, business class and economy. The standard of service and amenities offered by the airline are best in the class known as the residence in which a three room suite is provided to the passengers (Etihad.com, 2017). There is a living room, separate bedroom and shower room provided to this class of passengers. There are high quality meals provided. A separate butler is also provided. In the first class an armchair and a bed is provided. All this helps to make the journey a very comfortable one. In the business class of Etihad Airlines seats with more space are provided and also seats which are converted into flat beds at the push of some buttons. Moreover, they provide pillows and food and beverages managers are there to help the passengers decide what they should eat on the airplane. Etihad Airlines provide on their airplanes touch screen televisions and wi fi connectivity for internet. Thus while on the plane the passengers need not feel bored and also do their business work. The economy class also has comfortable seats with sufficient leg space for the passengers. They can order their meals on the times they want. The seats can be reclined and pillows and blankets are also provided. As far as places or destinations are concerned Etihad Airways operates flights to Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, North and South Americas. There are several countries in each continent and several cities in each country where the Etihad Airlines plane fly to. A person can book a ticket by coming to the above destination airports or can also book a ticket making use of the internet at Etihad.com. The tickets are priced by Etihad Airline for travelling on their planes on the basis of the destinations and also different classes like economy, business or the residence. The costing for these tickets is done on the basis of a number of factors like the services provided to each class of passengers (Zimmerman and Blythe, 2013). The airline earned a net profit of over hundred million US dollars in 2015. The number of passengers have been increasing year on year for several years. As the airline is increasing the number of destinations and also the capacity to each of the destination, it is earning more revenues and also is now having more cost synergies which mean better profit margins possibility (Gaggero and Piga, 2011). Etihad Airlines have been advertising in the print media. It also has a website and has been publishing a detailed annual report. There are advertisements about the airline on television in several countries of the world. The management of the airline consists of people from United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia, Switzerland and also the middle eastern countries. More and more people from the middle east are forming part of its managerial and technical staff. The airline flies a young fleet of aircrafts which are from Airbus Industries and Boeing company. The environment in which the airline operates is modern and sophisticated and technologically driven. Critical appraisal of the services of Etihad Airlines and suggestions for improvement At the Abu Dhabi airport, the handling of the baggage of the passengers is done completely by Etihad Airlines (Fu, Homsombat and Oum, 2011). The airline promises efficient handling of the customer luggage by its staff but there have been instances with the airline where the customer baggage has been delayed or lost and the airline has even refused to compensate the customer who complained that checked in baggage has been lost by the airline. The Etihad.com gives the information that if any passenger of Etihad Airlines does not get any information about such lost baggage for twenty one days, the claim would be processed but in reality such a claim sometimes does not get positive response (Etihad.com, 2017). The major airlines of the world more or less follow the same process where the customer brings the luggage the individual wants to travel with to the airport. The baggage is then weighed and customer is charged for the baggage according to the airline rates. The luggage has to pass through the security check also (Ringle, Sarstedt and Zimmermann, 2011). Then the luggage is deposited with the airline. A luggage handler of the airline then carries the luggage and another employee puts the luggage in the aircraft. If any of the employee is corrupt the luggage can be stolen away. The record of the luggage is made in the computer of the airline which can also be manipulated. This has been happening to some extent at the facilities of the airline, there have been complaints of such sort. The services of the airline are not what it shows at its website or in the media (Clow and Baack, 2012). There is need for improvement on the part of the airline which has installed sophisticated machinery at Abu Dhabi Airport for passengers baggage handling. But the problem is that at many other airports around the world the baggage of the passengers travelling by the airline is not handled completely by the airline employees. Some other companies are looking after the passenger baggage handling operations due to which customer baggage has been lost completely or has got delayed. Etihad Airlines has been training its pilots well and most of its airplanes are new and in good condition. But not all of its airplanes are in perfect condition that is why some of them had to undergo major maintenance in 2013 as given in the annual report of the company. some of them got cabin replacements and making arrangement for wi fi connections for the passengers. Thus this refutes the claims of the airline in its website that all its airplanes are new and in perfect condition (Clow and Baack, 2012). There have been complaints by some passengers of the airline that their flight was horrible and there was lot of turbulence and the aircraft did not seem to be in the top condition. Otherwise, the pilots were not efficient enough (Ji et al., 2011). It has been given in the publications by Etihad Airline that it has been recruiting lot of pilots from top airlines of the world many of them directly appointed as captains. The airline has made adequate arrangements for continuous training of its pilots and has also installed six flight simulators at its Abu Dhabi training facility. Pilots are also humans some turbulence in the aircraft does not mean that the pilots are indeed inefficient. But if a flight was consistently, disturbing, any complaint from the passengers needs to be looked into by the management of the airline with all seriousness (Martin, 2010). The airline claim to offer food to its passenger which is of five star quality. This is true to a great extent in case of the business or residence class of its passengers. In the case of economy class of the passengers this does not seem to be true. The food is of poor quality according to some passengers and is also inadequate (Clow and Baack, 2012). The airline wants to be worlds leading airline and if this is true the airline would lose many points so far as popularity with the masses is concerned. There are thousands of passengers who travel from Asian countries to UAE. Many of them travel by the economy class. They provide business in bulk to the airline. If they are left unsatisfied this would harm the business of the airline a great deal. All the advertisements in the print media and on the internet and television would fail if the realities on the ground are not good. The advertisements would appear hollow to consumers if such complaints increase and they know in reality Etihad airline is not as good as it claims (Murel and O'Connell, 2011). The rise in number of its passengers could also be due to the fact that incomes of the people are increasing and more of them also travel by air also due to the increase in other business activities in the region. Nowadays information travels fast and bad publicity for any organization is not good for its business (Zimmerman and Blythe, 2013). Just as good advertising brings more business, bad publicity results in lost business. Moreov er there are other airlines like the Emirates Airways which are stiff competitors of Etihad Airlines and which would benefit from the lowering service standards of the latter. Etihad Airlines is offering international class services with Arabian hospitality. This has made the airline acquire a unique place in the market. It has employees from different countries and its top management is from people who have been educated in Europe and the United States of America. The airline has aircrafts and equipment from leading companies of the world. Its employees are trained well (Martin, 2010). The company advertises these facts aggressively. This has helped it to win customers in Australia and the Americas. Passengers feel they are in safe hands and safety is of prime importance in the airline business (Ji et al., 2011). The advertising slogan of Etihad Airline The world is our home. You are our guest aptly describes the airline which flies to different continents and on the whole treats its customers as its guests. But there is scope for improvement the customer service of the airline can improve. The complaints of the customer should be promptly looked into. The food in the economy class should also improve in many cases. There is always scope for improving the training of staff and safety measures. There are also a lot of passengers of Etihad Airways from the Indian subcontinent. They feel more at home with the airline because the airline provides Indian food and the culture of the Middle East is very similar to that of the people from the Indian subcontinent. The staff of Etihad Airlines is also composed of many people from the Middle East and there is affinity between people from Asia. This factor has also made Etihad win over more passengers. People from Asia feel that it is their own airline. Conclusion It is not easy to run an airline. There are lot of expenses like fuel costs, salaries and maintenance charges. The consumers have become more demanding, new technology driven services are costly, but have to be provided. Etihad Airlines has been making profits. An airline from the Middle East country doing so well against the older airlines from advanced countries is commendable (O'Connell and Bueno, 2016). This has been made possible by the efforts of the well trained staff who have preserved the Arabian identity and made a respectable distinct place for the airline in the market. References Clow, K. Inoculations are an important part of our lives. They keep not only us, but the people around us healthy. If shots such as smallpox and polio are required for public schoolchildren, the common flu should be too. Children should be required to update their flu shot every year when attending school. Around 100 normal, healthy children die from influenza every year. (CDC) The sad part is that most of these deaths were unnecessary. If these children had received a vaccine, many lives would have been saved. Each shot costs around $20. For this amount of money, a child could have reached adulthood. If schools required updated flu shots, the student body will be immune on the whole. Of course someone will catch the flu, but they will have a less severe case, and those with weak immune systems wont be at risk. We will write a custom essay sample on The Flu-Shot Dilemma or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page When small children are dying, we know that this is a serious issue. The flu may seem like a very common ailment, but for infants and babies, catching influenza is severe. What happens to younger brothers and sisters? If an unvaccinated child catches the flu and brings it to school, a vaccinated child may bring it home without having the symptoms himself. His younger sister isnt old enough for the seasonal flu shot so when she catches it, her fragile immune system is unprepared. This is very preventable. Update your flu every year; not just for yourself, but for those you may never meet. If you were a parent, you would obviously care if your child was sick. During the winter, many children stay home from school because of cold and flu symptoms. If you want your child to stay healthy it takes more than one shot. At school not everyone gets a flu shot, therefore putting even vaccinated kids at risk. To guarantee a sterile learning environment, every single student needs a shot. The only conceivable way to avoid the vomiting, sneezing and fevers is to vaccinate the school. If the childs parents cant afford medical care, the school could also distribute a cheaper option. Clearly it should be mandatory that the staff and students be immunized. Others may argue that shots go against some familys religious or moral beliefs, or maybe the parents believe that shots are linked to more serious mental problems. This is an unreasonable paranoia. These unfortunate side affects only occur in a small percentage of vaccinated children and are often due to a pre-existing condition. W hen parents read that a child developed autism because of a flu shot, they jump to conclusions, many times without facts. There are some groups of children who shouldnt get vaccinated, such as kids with an allergy to chicken eggs, and some parents may have need to be concerned. Nevertheless, one small group shouldnt be able to sacrifice the well being of the whole. Those particular families can choose a private school if a simple flu shot is that big of an issue. Everyone gets sick. Some years one in every five people get the flu. (WebMD) It is predicted that 200,000 individuals suffer from influenza complications and 36,000 people die. These numbers are outrageous considering flu shots are so accessible. With the recent H1N1 pandemic, school age children are even more at risk. It is said that 1 in 13 childhood swine flu cases result in death and school children are the most affected. (DiscoveryNews) This is even more reason to vaccinate the schools. If there is a way to protect our selves, why not do it? Ultimately, the flu will come around every year. Do we want to watch healthy children die unexpectedly? Or do we want to defend our children from this disease? A simple shot is all it takes. Its the realistic choice. Children come to school to learn, they shouldnt have to worry about what germs they might pick up. Its the schools responsibility to keep the kids safe and to do that, they should make a flu shot mandatory. Give your child a flu shot. Not just for them, but for the children that they may never meet.

In America, it is universally accepted by medical practitioners that ADHD is a medical disorder affecting behavioral patterns. In 1998, the American Medical Association concluded that ADHD diagnosis is carried out on the facets of external observable resea rch, which when critically monitored, may lead to a reliable result. Thus, this research essay attempts to confirm that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a medical condition affecting childhood behavior. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD is a behavioral conditional disorder affecting an estimated eight to ten percent of school going children. Generally, this condition is three times likely to affect boys than girls. However, research done so far is unclear on the reasons surrounding the variance of gender in prevalence rate. Reflectively, children suffering from ADHD are prone to acting with improper coordination between action and consequence (Andrew, 2006). Besides, they are hyperactive and not keen to focus on interactive discussion. Though they understand expectations from parents, peers, and teachers, there is serious trouble in interpreting and following the expected due to restlessness. Thus, the victim cannot sit still, attends to fine details, or pay a ttention (Andrew, 2006). As a matter of fact, children of younger age exhibit these behavior characteristics as described when happy, exited, or anxious. It is a common scenario to monitor behavior of younger children when with peers or in the house. However, for ADHD condition, these characteristics are prolonged and occur intently. ADHD ailment impairs the ability of a child to function academically, socially, and at home. From the findings of advanced scientific research, this condition is treatable. The treatment schedule influences ability to learn practical ways of comfortably managing and living with these symptoms (Bee Boyd, 2011).Advertising Looking for research paper on psychology? The onset of ADHD symptoms is at the age before seven years. Globally, infection r ate stands at 3% to 5% among children. Besides, diagnosis rate in school going children is at 2% to 16%. Being a chronic condition, 30% to 50% of the infected children may exhibit persistent symptoms late into adulthood (Bee Boyd, 2011). Notably, adults and adolescents with this condition adopt coping mechanisms as a means of making up for their shortcomings. At present, the statistical estimate of America adults suffering from this ailment is at 4.7 percent (Bee Boyd, 2011). To carry out a standardized and non-biased screening, world bodies such as W.H.O have confirmed this as the official rate of infection. Specific medical conditions associated with ADHD ailment are unknown. However, twin studies reveal that this condition is hereditary with genetic factors accompanying 75% of all infections. In the findings of this research, gene combination affects dopamine transporters associate with behavior determinant code. For instance, LPHN3 gene is believed to influence occurrence of 9% of infections. Besides, environmental factors may contribute to dominance of ADHD in children. Reflectively, tobacco and alcohol exposure at pregnancy may lead to the infant being infected. Nicotine from tobacco depletes oxygen rich blood from reaching the fetus staving it of oxygen (Andrew, 2006). As a result, hypoxia is likely to trigger premature delivery and damage to the baby’s head. Victims of ADHD have prevalent rates of injuries on the head than others. Moreover, infections occurring at delivery and early infantry are also contributory factors. Viruses such as varicella, rubella, measles, and entrerovirus 71 alongside streptococcal infections are secondary agents of ADHD disease (Bee Boyd, 2011). In the findings of the American Medical Association research, carried out in 2007 and 2010, it revealed that insecticides of organophosphate chlorpyrifos form used in treatment of vegetables, affects infant physical and behavioral coordination. Done on a sample of one thousan d and one hundred children of age eight to fifteen, urine samples revealed that those with higher concentration of organic dialkyl, a breakdown product of phosphoric pesticides, were more likely to be infected with ADHD.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Medical Condition of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Also, in a study carried out in 2007 by Southempton linked hyperactivity to sodium benzoate used in America as a food color preservative. Children who consume large quantities of artificial food are at risk of infection. This is because artificial food is often preserved with large quantities of harmful benzoate preservatives. Notwithstanding, the W.H.O has indicated that this ailment is as a result of family dysfunction and inconsistencies in system of education. For instance, complex post Traumatic stress disorder and sensory integration dysfunction may trigge r individual psychopathology climaxing with an onset of ADHD infection (Andrew, 2006). Neglecting or abusing children for a longer period of time may trigger frustrations and overwhelming behavior inconsistency. Patho-physiology reveals that ADHD is associated with the brain malfunctioning. Therefore, impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattention are symptoms of brain disorder especially in the dorsal anterior cortex. Victims of this ailment exhibits predominant delay in brain response to stimuli causing them to mature at a rate higher than that of normal children (Bee Boyd, 2011). Consistent diagnosis of ADHD infection is inclusive of psychiatric, physical, laboratory, and radiological imaging examinations. For instance, the American Psychiatric Association has classified diagnosis on three facets. These facets explore the symptom characteristics displayed by the victims who are children, teenagers and adults. Irrespective of the age bracket, this ailment displays more or less the sa me symptoms depending on maturity and environmental influences. Classification of ADHD ailment relies on the nature of persistence of symptoms associated with it. For instance, irresponsiveness to impulse control may signify a developmental or growth lag. By use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, scientists and psychologists have discovered an acceptable prefrontal cortex estimating the onset of this ailment between three and five years of age. However, this condition is behavior controlled and not neurological. Psychologists describes ADHD as a disruptive behavioral disorder (Bee Boyd, 2011) consisting of conduct, antisocial, and oppositional defiant disorder (Bee Boyd, 2011). The three subtypes of ADHD include the impulsive, inattentive, and impulsive-inattentive order. Patients who suffer from hyperactive impulsive ADHD are predominantly normal and only display partial symptoms in lifetime. However, those in inattentive class, especially children, experience challenges when interact ing with peers and are prone to retreat into their own world quietly without realizing it. Due to this, this victim may not receive attention from parents, teachers and peers. A combination of impulsive and inattentive types is referred to as a full blown ADHD condition (Andrew, 2006).Advertising Looking for research paper on psychology? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In childhood, victims of this condition are easily distracted, forgetful, cannot maintain focus in a single task, easily bored, and seem to be distance when being spoken to. Besides, the victim becomes restless and destructive in the house and at school. Often, parents with children suffering from this ailment do complain of them being over-destructive, inattentive, and struggle to follow simple instructions. When seated, these children squirm a lot and talk nonstop. Within a short time, they dash out and touch everything in sight. In addition, the impaired is prone to restlessness during dinner and story time. Moreover, given the slightest opportunity, the child is likely to remain in motion constantly. Also, when in companion of peers, the impaired is unable to exercise patient in game turns and make inappropriate hurting comments on friends (Bee Boyd, 2011). At teenager, ADHD patient is prone to making careless mistakes in academic work, peer interaction, and decisions. The first symptom is predominant failure to complete homework, exams, and co-curriculum activities. In addition, careless in organizing work of scheme creeps in and forgetful dominate (Andrew, 2006). Moreover, when not in classroom, the impaired is prone to excessive talking accompanied by rebellion when faced by a disagreeing opinion. Generally, there is a feeling of restlessness and an urge to interrupt or intrude a conversation. Regardless of treatment, adolescent victims of full blown ADHD are prone to academic failure. In America alone, 37% of ADHD victims fail to secure high school diploma even when learning in special education programs with only 5% acquiring college degree. Besides, they are at higher risk of injury, auto crashes, earlier conjugal activities, teen pregnancy, and higher expenses on medical treatment (Andrew, 2006). In adults, ADHD infection is characterized by persistent lack of self-motivation and control. As a matter of fact, such an adult is impulsive, inattentive, and hyperactive when interacting with peers. Full blown infection symptoms in adult includes occupational inconsistency, education failure, sexual malfunctioning, poor social relationships, failed marriage, inconsistent dating tendencies, irresponsible parenting, psychological morbidity, frequent drugs and internalized crime activities, and poor financial management skills (Bee Boyd, 2011). Treatment of ADHD consists of psychosocial behavior counseling and therapies such as cognitive, interpersonal, family support, training on social skills, and interventions in school. Besides, short term stimulant medication is by choice. Atomoxetine stimulants are recommended by medics for preschool victims. To manage this condition, an array of medical, behavioral, counseling, and lifestyle modification is the best combination. The hurdles towards ADHD sustainability lies on difficulty to separate its symptoms from other ailments and inefficient training for medical staffs on the best practices of treatment and assessment in patients of adult age (Bee Boyd, 2011). Research indicates that 60% of childhood ADHD infections go into adulthood. However, many of these adults remain untreated. Due to un-treatment, the symptoms develop into disorganization, alcoholism, drug abuse, and chaotic lifestyle. Besides, the victim is at risk of developing anxiety disorder, depression, learning disabilities, and substance abuse. Proper diagnosis may be a solution towards individual insightfulness on behavior and awareness of treatment and coping strategies. However, controversy surrounds the belief that this ailment persist into old age. Among other obstacles to proper diagnosis includes inappropriate diagnosis criteria, comorbidities, and possibility of a link to situational and intelligence levels. Successful treatment in children is a cordial partnership between a doctor, child, and the parents. Stimulant medications are available to calm down the impaired (Bee Boyd, 2011). ADHD affects children and adults. In fact, impact on adults is often devastating on the ability to maintain relationships, work, and family demands. References Andrew, G. (2006). Writing an Essay For Your Graduate School Application

Writing an Essay For Your Graduate School ApplicationYou've got that good idea about the amount of applications you want to submit in the next year. It can be difficult, even impossible, to juggle all the possible essays that are floating around. Instead of being frustrated by this type of situation, use a graduate school application essay sample to help you prepare for your future decision. The first step is to find an essay for your graduate school application essay. An essay is usually created based on two things. First, what kind of information does the student have to bring to the attention of the admissions committee? The student will most likely talk about his or her experience. This can be found in something like a college admission essay, a graduate school application essay, or a personal statement. Another thing to think about is the theme of the student's writing.Theme-based essays tend to be more popular. If you're looking to write a theme based essay, try to incorporate a related topic that fits well with the experience of the student. For example, if the student has been involved in the planning and execution of a particular plan, that could become a topic. On the other hand, if the student wrote a novel about an experience that wasn't related to school, it could become a theme. The typical essays tend to contain one or two basic sentences, followed by a paragraph that describes what the student's topic is. Each paragraph is more detailed and short; so the reader has to read several paragraphs before they get to the conclusion. These types of essays are great for getting all the important information across. When considering sentence length, think about how long the sentence will be and whether the reader will have time to think about it. It might be best to shorten sentences, but you don't want to lose the reader's attention. Writing too much can be disorienting.A good way to keep from going crazy is to take some time to think about the format that w ould work best for your graduate school application essay. The best way to decide on this is to look at similar examples of essay topics to see which one you like the best. Once you've chosen a topic, try to write within the guidelines for it to make the most of your experience.

Social Policy Analysis Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Social Policy Analysis - Assignment Example One such reform that is going to be discussed in this paper is the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA). Child Abuse is an issue that is spreading around like a contagion. Though there have been numerous efforts to curb this issue, but the facts revealed from a number of studies show that it is continuously on the rise and is also intensifying with the passage of time (Gil, 1973). Such studies give a disturbing insight into the alarming amount of impact that it is having by plaguing societies. Specifically shedding light on the issue at grass root level, child abuse can be defined as any act that threatens to be harmful to the health and/or welfare of a child. A child, in such a case, generally refers to persons under the age of 18 that are under parental care or in the care of a guardian (Stoltzfus, 2009). The abuse on the other hand in case of child abuse can be anything on part of the parent or caretaker that leads to any sort of emotional or physical harm to the child; or any sort of exploitation or sexual abuse. It even constitutes the domain of neglect on part of the parent/guardian in terms of failure to act that leads to any sort of harm to the child (McClennen, 2010). Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act is a legislation incepted in 1974 in United States pursuing to ensure child protection. It has been reviewed and reformed six times since its inception in efforts to further refine and expand its scope of operations (US Dept of Health and Human Services, 2003). The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act has been crafted in view of various studies that show that there are over a 1000,000 children in America that suffer from abuse and neglect every year, which in turn leave marks due to which they suffer throughout their lives. Most of these children never even receive any sort of treatment or protection from such mishandling. It was only when the enormity of the situation got serious that
